- Direct and manage the entire QA testing protocol from early game design to final release, including black box/functional, regression, and end-phase testing.
- Attend planning and sprint meetings as the QA representative, actively listening for scope, features, or changes that require testing coverage or dedicated QA development effort, and advocating for QA needs before they become blockers.
- Team Coordination: Liaise closely with the development and creative teams to facilitate communication and address issues promptly. Guide QA testers in their daily tasks and project goals.
- Oversee daily smoke tests and performance checks across all game versions and platforms. Ensure defects are reported and tracked systematically.
- Develop, enhance, and maintain detailed test cases and scripts to cover all aspects of game quality, including functionality, performance, and user experience.
- Identify, analyze, and report issues, providing actionable insights and recommendations for improvements in the game’s design, functionality, and performance.
- Lead titles through crucial phases of submission testing, ensuring that every game version meets the highest quality standards before public release.
- Feedback Integration: Collaborate integrating player and team feedback to enhance game quality and player satisfaction.
- Own the assigned project end to end, maintaining awareness of the timeline and ensuring QA needs are represented at every stage.
- Formulate clear, structured test plans and communicate them to the team, including timelines, priorities, and ownership.
- Delegate tasks across the QA team and any outsourced QA resources, track progress, and make sure priorities are understood and followed throughout the build cycle.
- Chase information proactively rather than waiting for it to come to you, and respond to cross-department requests in a timely manner.
- Identify patterns in defect data and team workflows, surface them to relevant stakeholders, and propose concrete solutions including process changes, tooling improvements, or preventive testing strategies.
- Bring forward ideas to improve QA practices at Aesir over time, including future-looking solutions.
Stay current with QA tooling and AI-assisted testing tools, applying them where they genuinely improve efficiency or coverage.
